There was no shortage of controversy for U.S. curling when it cames to the recent Olympics, stemming from sub-par records for the American teams, lineup changes and extensive media coverage. As he drove to Kalamazoo for this week’s U.S. Nationals, I talked to USCA Chief Operating Officer Rick Patzke about the events and articles of the last month and the changes he sees coming in U.S. curling.

Interest in the game in the United States has been extremely high since the 2006 Games in Turin. We talked to Rick Patzke about the USCA’s strategy for promoting the game (competitive excellence is Priority #1), the problem of demand outstripping supply and the USA playdowns process.
