Cheryl Bernard, 2010 Olympic Silver Medalist and 2010 Grey Power Players Champion. April 26th, 2010

It’s Monday Madness here at The Curling Show as we post two interviews in one day.

She skipped her rink to wins in Edmonton at the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, in Dawson Creek at the Players Championship and came within an inch of gold at the Vancouver Games. She also appears in Fit to Curl: A Sport-Specific Guide to Training for the World’s Greatest Game by John Morris and was kind enough to join us on the phone for a conversation last week. Cheryl talks about her team’s extraordinary year and what the future holds. She also weighs in on the news of the change in the lineup of Team Jennifer Jones.

Now that the off-season has arrived, get your training started with Fit to Curl: A Sport-Specific Guide to Training for the World’s Greatest Game by Olympic Gold Medalist John Morris. It’s available at fittocurl.com and at Chapters/Indigo/Coles throughout Canada.

I’m sure she’s happier about returning to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts but this is also the second time Cheryl has been on The Curling Show. We talked to her a few days after her team’s big win in the Alberta Provincial Final.

We talked with Cheryl a few hours before she left for Abbotsford and the Wayden Transportation Classic. We discuss last season, her new team this season, the book Between the Sheets that she wrote with Guy Scholz, and whether we’ll be be seeing her in next year’s calendar of female curlers after George Karrys suggested it on The Curling News Blog.
