Rick Patzke, COO of the United States Curling Association. November 20th, 2006

Interest in the game in the United States has been extremely high since the 2006 Games in Turin. We talked to Rick Patzke about the USCA’s strategy for promoting the game (competitive excellence is Priority #1), the problem of demand outstripping supply and the USA playdowns process.

Dwayne Fowler Interview. November 15th, 2006

A surprise winner on this year’s Asham World Curling Tour, skip Dwayne Fowler talked to us a few days after his team captured the Tim Horton’s Invitatational Classic by beating Team Gushue in the final on November 5th. For all those curlers who feel like they’re on the bubble, this is a great opportunity to hear about a team that was formed late and entered the season without high expectations for Tour success. Some fans of the game might remember Dwayne from last year’s Canadian Mixed — he’s been a top player in Quebec for a number of years.

Christine Keshen Interview. November 10th, 2006

In the Olympics, in the calendar, in the news — Christine Keshen is a front end player who actually seems to find the spotlight. Yesterday, we talked to her about being quick with a quote, being late for a game and being photographed by Ana Arce. It’s an interesting conversation with an athlete who’s not afraid to say what’s on her mind.

Mark Johnson Interview. November 3rd, 2006

In this interview, I talked to Mark Johnson, a guy who is acutely aware of just how difficult it is to win the province of Alberta. Mark was a Slam qualifier last season, just missed out on a Brier berth and will take his team to Waterloo for the Masters of Curling — soon to be the Home Hardware Masters of Curling — at the end of November.
