Sherry Middaugh Interview. October 28th, 2005

Sherry Middaugh, skip of the first team to qualify for the 2005 Olympic Trials in Halifax (Canada Cup win in 2003), joined us to talk about the current season, international play and the state of the women’s game. The runback segment reveals that you can take the girl out of Saskatchewan, but you can’t take the Saskatchewan out of the girl.

Bob Ursel Interview. October 21st, 2005

Bob Ursel, world junior champion in 1985 and owner of two Purple Hearts from B.C., talked to us from Kamloops during the Strauss Crown of Curling, just a short while after he lost an extra end game to Al Moore. Apparently, Moore made a quintuple and stuck to score two. Bob talks about his team’s season so far, his return to skipping and comes down in favor of the rehabbed McDonald Brier trophy over the Labatt Tankard in the rapid-fire runback segment.

Pierre Charette Interview. October 21st, 2005

The guy who has played every position in the Brier talked to us from Gander, Newfoundland, where his team ended up losing in the quarter-finals to Kevin Martin. Still, this crew is off to a solid start — George Karrys has them ranked #7 over at The Curling News.

Another reminder that we’re in the ITunes podcast directory — it makes it so easy to subscribe and get new shows automatically downloaded into your computer. Remember, ITunes isn’t Mac only — PC users can download it for free at at the Apple site.

As always, our music is from Black Pudding. My big question: which curling event will be the first to book these guys? Contact us for information.

Ed Werenich Interview. October 6th, 2005

The Wrench makes time for The Curling Show and guess what? He doesn’t hold much back. He’s re-retired this year, but that doesn’t mean he’s finished sharing his opinions.

Cory Naharnie Interview. October 6th, 2005

Cory Naharnie, lead (we’re making sure front end players get some air time) on Ryan Fry’s team, talked to us following a disappointing weekend in Brandon at the Wheat City Classic. They had a tough draw (Stoughton, Petryk, Lyburn) and never really got things going. It’s interesting to hear from a member of one of Manitoba’s good young teams that people outside the province don’t get much chance to see. We finish the interview with a rapid-fire question/answer segment.
