Jon Mead Interview, Part One. August 29th, 2005

We’re back with another Manitoban – Jon Mead of Team Stoughton. Jon discussess the team’s 2004-2005 season, the effect of earning an Olympic Trials spot prior to last season, the Manitoba Tuck, playing the third position, the team’s disappointments at the provincial championships and the Safeway Select format.

We’re still not in the ITunes directory, but you can subscribe to our feed in ITunes without any other podcasting software. Go to Podcasts in the ITunes Music Store, click on SUBSCRIBE TO PODCAST under ADVANCED and paste in the feed from this site (it appears in your browser window when you click on the RSS/2.0 logo under FEEDS in the Nav Bar on the right). It makes automatic downloads very routine. Remember – you can always listen to the interviews as streaming audio as well.

As usual, Toronto’s Black Pudding gets the interview started and helps wrap things up. With songs like Mountain of Rock and Rockaholic, I think someone in Regina needs to book them for the Brier Patch.

Cassie Johnson Interview. August 24th, 2005

In this edition, we interview Cassie Johnson, the young skip of the team that will represent the United States at the Olympic Games. The former world junior champ and runner-up at last year’s world championships in Scotland discusses training for Torino, the advantages of a full year of preparation, the team’s schedule for next season, the youth factor, last year’s world final, the challenges faced by competitive curlers in the United States and more.

Once again, the music is by Black Pudding – we’re planning to offer the tracks for sale shortly.

Jill Officer Interview, Part Two. August 11th, 2005

This edition is the second half of our two-part interview with Jill Officer of Team Jennifer Jones. We cover a range of topics, including The Shot, the world championships and the CCA fumbling of the television contract. A lot of opinions – both mine and Jill’s – should spark some online conversations.

We’re still not in the ITunes directory – apparently, Steve Jobs has more pressing concerns than making sure our show is included. You can, however, still subscribe to our feed in ITunes without any other podcasting software.

Finally, we just want to remind you that you can always listen to the interview as streaming audio. Just click on DOWNLOAD and it will start to play. Thanks for listening and enjoy another track from Black Pudding.

Jill Officer Interview, Part One. August 3rd, 2005

The first half (12 minutes) of a two part interview with Jill Officer from Team Jennifer Jones. We cover Cathy Gauthier’s decision to leave the team for family reasons, the addition of Georgina Wheatcroft and how the team evolved last season. In Part Two, which will be posted shortly, we cover “The Shot”, the miserable – my words, not Jill’s – world championships, and the CCA television coverage woes.

We’re still not in the ITunes directory – apparently, others are having the same problem we are and we’re working on it with Apple. You can, however, still subscribe to our feed in ITunes without any other podcasting software. Go to Podcasts in the ITunes Music Store, click on SUBSCRIBE TO PODCAST under ADVANCED and paste in the feed from this site (it appears in your browser window when you click on the RSS/2.0 logo under FEEDS in the Nav Bar on the right). Finally, we just want to remind you that you can always listen to the interview as streaming audio. Just click on DOWNLOAD and it will start to play. Thanks for listening. Enjoy the show and Black Pudding.
